Experience real China with this Mount Huangshan and ancient villages immersion experience. Launch your tour from Huangshan City and travel to glorious Mount Huangshan. Ascend the mountain by cable car and take in the breathtaking scenery that makes the Mount Huangshan so famous. At the peak, enjoying relaxed hiking that allows you to absorb stunning views from key points along the way. Take advantage of an overnight stay on the mountain by capturing the sunrise, comparable with the best around the world. Return to the mountain base and travel to nearby Hongcun Village, setting the famous Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon film. Overnight at Bishan Village where you’ll stay at Pig’s Inn, an authentic traditional guest house. The fourth day of the tour will find you mixing with a local farming family. Help them gather food and prepare a traditional lunch you’ll share together. Wrap up the day with a class where you’ll learn the traditional art of tofu making in Xiuning. Return to Huangshan City for the final night of your tour and savour your last day, wandering through Old Tunxi Street, with its eclectic mix of local crafts, cuisine, and tea. Make the Huizhou style incense pendants in a workshop as your Huangshan memory. Itinerary
Upon arrival in Huangshan City, your guide and driver will greet you and transfer you to the pre-booked hotel for check-in. Take your time strolling the area, exploring the local culture, sampling delicacies or tea, investigating the local crafts, maybe having calligraphy prepared to order. Should you choose to have dinner here, your guide will be happy to recommend some highly rated local restaurants.

After a big breadfast at the hotel, you’ll drive the one hour distance to Mount Huangshan, one of the most significant peaks in China. On arrival board Yungu cable car and ride a full ten minutes to the top. Along the way, enjoy the opportunity to appreciate the beautiful view that takes in the surrounding mountains. Once you reach the top you’ll set out on a relaxed hike to Begin-to-Believe Peak, one of the numerous small peacks that make up the Huangshan mountain range. It’s the perfect way to immerse yourself in the surrounds and absorb the breathtaking views from key points of note, including Black Tiger Pine and Flower Blooming on a Brush Tip.
Be fortified by a buffet lunch served at the hotel on the mountain. Hiking then continues to West Sea Grand Canyon, the most challenging as well as the most beautiful section. Carefully descend the steep cliff, while admiring truly incredible landscapes of peaks towering through clouds. Almost four hours is needed for a round trip of the area covering three essential parts: 1st ring; 2nd ring; and bottom of the canyon. Following a hike back to the hotel, you’ll enjoy a buffet dinner and an overnight stay.

Note: It is essential that travelers carry water with them. As stairs are steep and narrow all the way, this trip is best suited to those in good health with sturdy knees. Alternatively there is a monorail that may be taken part of the way.

Please be aware, you will have an overnight stay on the mountain as part of today’s itinerary arrangements. It is recommended to travel light by taking just some carry-on items when hiking, including a waterproof jacket. Your guide will help you with storage of heavy luggage. In addition, for environmental protection hotels, on the mountain will not provide disposable toiletries, so please carry your own.
Early morning offers a unique opportunity to see the magical sunrise from Mount Huangshan. After breakfast, continue your exploration, stopping Flying over Rock and Bright Summit. Your guide will share famous local stories and legends as you marvel at the idyllic background: an continually changing sea of clouds and panoramic vista of forest, valley and peaks. Hike back for the return trip down the mountain on the Yungu cable car.
Further indulge your appreciation of the natural environment, especially when blended aesthetically, Hui-style, with the 900 year old built environment of Hongcun Village. Layout and architecture dates from the Ming and Qing dynasties. Note the artistry in the beautiful wood carvings adorning buildings as you soak up picturesque rural scenery featured in the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Enjoy being driven to Bishan Village where you’ll stay at Pig’s Inn, an authentic traditional guest house tucked in a Qing Dynasty courtyard. Here bikes can be hired to explore the tranquil environment and idyllic surroundings.

If staying at the Beihai Hotel, sunrise can be viewed at Lion Peak, while Purple Cloud Peak offers the best view point near Xihai Hotel. Please note, the hotel staff will advise the weather forecast and probability of seeing the sunrise the next day.
Following breakfast travel to Nanping Village where you’ll have the opportunity to meet and connect with a local family on a farm visit. Learn about local life, assisting the farmer by picking fresh vegetables, preparing a home cooked lunch, and immersing yourelf in the rural lifestyle. Farewell your family and then travel to Xiuning, where you’ll experience the traditional art of tofu making in a workshop located in Wanan Old Street. A staple of Chinese cuisine and culture, learning this ancient technique provides an opportunity to experience real Huizhou culture. From Xiuning return to Huangshan City for check in at the hotel. Relax for the evening and reflect on your day.

After breakfast and check out from the hotel, visit Tunxi Old Street, which is actually a number of ancient streets and alleyways. Tunxi Old Street offers a glimpse into the ways traditional Chinese commerce and life has merged with a more contemporary spin on things. Have a try to make the Huizhou style incense pendant with Chinese herbals at a local workshop and keep it as your beautiful Huangshan memory. As a final stop on the tour, you will be transferred to the airport or train station for your next destination.
