We recently booked a private family vacation with ChinaTours.com for a week-long adventure in Xi'an and Luoyang, and it was nothing short of exceptional! The itinerary was perfectly crafted, allowing sufficient time to explore the iconic sites like the Terracotta Warriors and the breathtaking Longmen Grottoes and many more. Kudos to Ms. Lora of ChinaTours, everything was tailored to our interests, allowing us to explore hidden gems and local favourites. Our English-speaking guides, Felix (方洪杰) for Xi'an & Shirley (周丹丹) for Luoyang, were very knowledgeable and engaging, making history come alive for us. They were not only knowledgeable but also passionate about their cities, sharing stories and insights that enriched our experience beyond the typical tourist narratives. We had the opportunity to witness a few spectacular and mesmerizing cultural and historical performances at a grandeur scale, which added a personal touch to our understanding of the culture and history. The guides were very accommodating in the dining options, which allowed us to savour the delicious local cuisines of the Shaanxi and Henan provinces. The seamless transportation via the minivan and high-speed trains added to our travel experience, making everything relaxing and stress-free. ChinaTours truly thought of everything to ensure our family had an unforgettable trip in China. We highly recommend ChinaTours to anyone looking for a seamless and memorable visit to China!

China Tours did an excellent job of accommodating and coordinating the necessary paperwork, tickets, guides, setting up WeChat for direct communications such that I could communicate with my guides prior to my arrival, etc. for me to enjoy a relaxing adventure filled with new information. Regarding the guides, each one is very special, they are open to questions. Willing to adjust schedules, share personal information that we can compare to my western experience. Have a sense of humor about them, explain changes that need to be made, and each shares a perspective of China and its 5,000-year-old history and how it is a nation of tribes that work together resulting amazing functional society with the most sophisticated infrastructure the world has ever seen. China can be proud of each guide; each is an asset for changing the wests perspective and embracing all that China is doing to improve the world. Excellent Taiwan tour from China Travels. We found this company on the web and was super pleased with the communications and arrangements through Martha. I was traveling with my sister and 10 friends who had previously lived in Taiwan so we wanted to revisit our childhood. We started in Taipei, then went to Sun Moon Lake, Alishan and Tainan. Taroko Gorge was on our list due to the earthquake damage from last year, we changed places. Our tour guide, Cathy Lin, was great as she added some activities and places to our itinerary that were hidden gems. Very responsive to our needs throughout the tour. My friends were super pleased with the trip. Highly recommend for future travel arrangements.

I really enjoyed my recent private tour with China Tours! I remembered I took a China Tours about 13 years ago in Beijing and since I had a long weekend during a recent business trip, I decided to take the chance on them again and booked on-line. Working with Martha via email on short notice and right before the National Holiday, she was able to arrange a 1-day private trip for me to the Terracotta Warriors, Mosque, and the Xi'an Wall with Cathy K. as my tour guide. Even before my tour began, Cathy reached out to me and gave suggested a few sites to visit in the city the afternoon I arrived.

Morning of, pick up time was confirmed via WeChat and Cathy picked me up in a nice minivan and was escorted all day by a VERY knowledgeable tour guide in Cathy. She knew the tour well, the sites visited and their history, shared many welcoming stories and information. Her English was almost perfect and welcoming after a long business trip. More importantly, she knew her city well and made several great food recommendations - local lunch was amazing and so were the pomegranates! She even helped me purchase some jade necklaces as gifts.

Although it rained all day long, Cathy kept the tour upbeat and engaging - cannot say that about my sneakers that did not make the trip home.

The next day, Cathy went the extra mile by making sure I made it to the airport and my flight chatting me Chinese phrases for both the taxi driver and check in counter to ensure if needed I would not miss my flight.

I would like to give a BIG "XIE XIE" to CATHY K - an outstanding tour guide (and food connoisseur)! I very much enjoyed my day (wishing I had longer) and look forward to my return and another China Tours tour with hopefully Cathy K again.

China is an amazing country to visit, and China Tours did an excellent job planning and arranging our itinerary. They handled all of the transportation and bookings for the hotels and sites. We went on the 12 day tour that included Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu, Guilin and Shanghai. At each location we had knowledgeable local guide and there was ample free time to explore on our own. The accommodations were all 4-5 stars hotels in great locations and excellent breakfast.

First, we would like to thanked Martha for her great organizational skills, very accommodating and understanding as we have to postponed our trip from March to July 2024.

The trips were very well organized. All the tour guides from Kevin in Beijing, Helen in Xi’an and John in Shanghai were all very professional, Knowledgeable about the historical aspects of each place, very kind and accommodating.

Everything was great and enjoyable, except the weather was not cooperating, it’s too hot and humid.

I had an amazing time in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, with a fantastic guide Frank. He was able to arrange all my halal meals, recommend restaurants and even stopped for lunch at a particular halal cafe. Frank was outstanding in all areas of knowledge, history of the area, what to see and answered all my questions. Thank you for everything and especially sorting out my return airline meals. Absolutely brilliant!

Keven and Rita in Beijing were just as good. They were able to arrange the tours which were easy for us, away from the main crowds and as it was humid, worked perfectly! Again, thank you for all your suggestions and help.

My family and I loved our recent private tour with China Tours! We started by working with Lora to plan our itinerary first. We let her know which cities we wanted to visit and what we wanted to see in each city. She was so responsive to my many questions and requests from providing information necessary to get our visas to making recommendations of when we should see the Terra Cotta soldiers based on our travel schedule to letting me know we were able to get entry tickets to see the Forbidden City. I felt very comfortable in a country where I didn't speak the language because Lora was always available to provide assistance. When we arrived in each location, the guides and drivers were fantastic. I was able to connect with each guide prior to reaching the destination and they were always waiting for us. The guides, Chas in Hong Kong, Helen in Xi'an and William in Beijing were fabulous!!! They were all so accommodating and helpful. They knew their cities well and made great food recommendations! Since we were on a private tour, they were very willing to make adjustments based on what we wanted to do or see when prior reservations were not required. My husband, daughter and I are very grateful to Lora, Chas, Helen and William for providing us with such a wonderful experience in China! Thank you!

We had a great time in Beijing and surroundings. Guide Maggie was very knowledgeable and speaks English really well. She was flexible and proactive as we had some last minute requests and some sites were crowded and she did a good job navigating that. During our preparations, office person Martha responded fast and accurately. We stayed at the Novotel which we liked as it has a good location for an evening stroll and mall.

Our trip was delayed from 2020 with no problems. Martha responded to changes in our itinerary brilliantly.

There were two of us on our small group tour and the service was exceptional. Hotels were of a high standard and we were happy with them. All guides were enthusiastic and helpful, we only had to ask.

In the end we took high speed trains within China which we enjoyed as we got to see more of the country.

The small group tour of Beijing, Xi’an and Shanghai organised by China Tours was a great way to see these 3 fantastic cities of China. Each of the local guides Nancy (Beijing), Elysha (Xi’an) and Lucy (Shanghai) were very friendly, knowledgeable and interesting and had a passion for their jobs. They were all super helpful answering any questions and offering advice and tips for navigating each city in our own free time, including recommendations for places to eat and other attractions to see not covered by the tour. All the main attractions and sites were visited with plenty of time spent at each. The main highlights for me were the Forbidden City and Great Wall (Nancy took us to a great part of the wall that was not overcrowded) in Beijing and the Terracotta Army in Xi’an (including meeting the farmer who made the discovery in the 1970’s). It was not a rushed tour and was also flexible. In Xi’an because of the weather the itinerary order was changed to suit the group. Being a small escorted tour meant that you were not just one of many in the usual large group tours which made it more personal and enjoyable. A special mention for Nancy and Elysha who made suggestions, with no hidden agenda, in Beijing and Xi’an respectively to see live shows as add-ons which turned out to be unexpected delights. Martha of China Tours was very easy to deal with and was patient with all my requests and queries when booking the tour. Overall I can highly recommend China Tours if you plan to visit China and wish to arrange a tour. From start to finish everyone was extremely helpful and communicated in very good English.

I can’t imagine a better way to see and experience Taiwan than this 9-day tour. Starting in Taipei and driving counterclockwise we went from the top to the farthest southern tip of the country and back. Hotels were much nicer than expected as were all of the locals we met along the way. As most travelers know, a few words in the local language are much appreciated so set your Google translate app to Traditional Chinese and say hello! Our tour leader Cathy was funny, smiley, organized, and felt like my 2nd mother as she constantly made sure I was all right and happy. The trip itinerary was varied and extensive (maybe a few too many temples but that’s my problem). Perhaps the most impressive was the coordination between our tour leader and the travel company when an issue arose as when an indigenous cultural site unexpectedly closed. Cathy arranged for us to attend a special performance of another group which turned out to be one of the many highlights of the tour.
This tour was excellent, a great introduction to an interesting country, a great value for the price. I highly recommend it. Oh, and try to get Cathy Lin as your guide; you won’t regret it.

Our 10 day tour with China Tours was an absolutely great experience. The hotels and transportation arrangements were great. We went to five cities, Beijing, Xi'an, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Shanghai. In each of those cities we had outstanding English speaking tour guides that were very knowledgeable and helpful. The tours were just the right amount of time to allow us spend some time on our own exploring each city. Overall, the trip was a great experience and we would highly recommend China Tours.

As I come to an end to my amazing and memorable 10day tour to this beautiful country. I have but only praise for this fabulous tour operator. All the ladies, Lora, Nancy, elysha, lucky were just brilliant and superb at their jobs from been super informative to been so punctual, to experiencing local culture and recommend spots to try out local Cuisines. We were a group of 3 in the no shopping stop tour. It was my first experience in a group and I got some wonderful friends for a lifetime. Everything so well taken care of by lord always available and very reliable. I would recommend Nancy for Beijing she is an excellent and wonderful guide suggesting amazing things to do in Beijing and experiencing the great wall. Elysha for xian experiencing the amazing terracotta warrior and rich culture. Lucky was so informative about the modern and ancient history of shanghai. Excellent company and oustanding customer service.

We visited city walls of Xi'an, Terracotta warriors museum, Great Mosque, Muslim Quarter organised by China Tours. The guide was so knowledgable with so many interesting informations from history and nowadays life in China for complete experience. We enjoyed every minute of our trip.

My husband, a friend, and I took the 8-day Beijing-Xian-Shanghai small group tour- no shopping stops tour departing May 27, 2024. We were the only ones on the tour because it was before summer holidays. It was fantastic!

They met us at the airport in Beijing, brought us to our hotel in Beijing, and got us checked in. From the airport onward, we were told what time to meet in the lobby and were escorted everywhere for the tours. Super easy. We were on our own most evenings, but the guides recommended restaurants and activities.

In Beijing, the Great Wall was the highlight. We walked about 2 miles before turning around at #17 on the map at the entrance. They had refreshments for sale just before we turned around. Our guide was helpful.

From Beijing we took the bullet train to Xian. Our guide here, Helen, was terrific!!! She was very knowledgeable and had great suggestion's. The Terra cotta warriors was the highlight of the trip. It was amazing! Helen suggested we go to the love and dance story at a dinner theater. It was additional, but beautiful costumes, dancing, singing and 16 types of dumplings for dinner. Dinner started at 6:30 with live music and the show was from 7:30-8:30pm.

We took a flight to Shanghai for the third part of the tour. We did a walking tour, visited a museum, went to a beautiful garden with shopping area and restaurants nearby. We ate lunch at and went to the Lu Bo Lang restaurant which is a Michelin star restaurant. Our tour guide, Warren, recommended we see the lights on the river at night. It was beautiful!

Lora at the office was very helpful answering questions before we booked, after, and with questions that arose during trip. We continued to stay in China after the tour and she helped with flights. We were very last minute with this trip. It was less than a month from deciding to go and traveling.

We were very impressed with the tour and would definitely recommend them.
